Hidden Mickeys!

Who else loves to find Hidden Mickeys? My husband and I love to walk around Walt Disney World and find these little hidden treasures!
Hidden mickeys are hidden all around Disney World and are created by the Disney imagineers, a way for them to leave their mark on their project. Rusty and I first started looking for hidden mickeys while we were on our honeymoon. We got this book, which provides clue and hints for the location of each hidden mickey.

It has become a favorite past time while we are at Disney ever since. It's a thrill to find a new hidden mickey and still fun to point out ones you have found in the past. It definitely makes waiting in line a bit more fun and go by faster when you have your book to look at and "plan" for the hidden mickeys coming up in the attraction you are waiting for.

I don't want to give away too many of the locations but I thought I would share my favorite hidden mickeys around Walt Disney World.

This is actually a hidden Minnie Mouse (I don't want to give too much away, so I am not going to share the location) but once you find this little treasure you will never forget it!

If you love looking for hidden mickeys too, let me know some of your favorites! If you have not started looking for hidden mickeys, I highly suggest you start on your next trip! You will LOVE it!!!!

I can't wait to find some of my old favorites on our trip (which is in 31 days!!!!) and find new hidden mickeys! There are always new ones to be found :)

Snack Time!

We have 36 days until Disney..... yay!!! I find myself daydreaming about Disney more and more every day! I can't wait to step into the magical world of pure bliss.
Every evening as my husband and I lay in bed I ask him "so what snacks are you most looking forward to?" We get the Disney Dining Plan so we each get one snack per day. As you probably have guessed, I love Disney food and especially the snacks!
Here are some of the snacks we are most looking forward to:

Pineapple Dole Whip at Magic Kingdom- so refreshing and yummy!

Popcorn- when it is fresh and warm, I don't know how Disney does it but it tastes so good (especially when your waiting for a show or parade!)

Cinnamon Bun at the Magic Kingdom Bakery. Oh my goodness, they are simply delicious. They are served warm.... and very large so they are great to share. We love to get one after we spend a late night at the MK for extra magic hours, it makes a great "midnight" snack!!

Rice Crispy Treats- Again, there must be something magical Disney uses on these things because they are sooooo addicting. We eat at least 3-4 per trip!!!

Jalapeno Cheese Stuffed Pretzel at Animal Kingdom- super yummy. Just the right amount of cheese and spice!

Cannoli's from Italy, world showcase at Epcot- one of my husband's favorite snacks!

I could go on and on.... Disney has lots and lots of snacks to pick from. You should never go hungry during your visit, that is for sure!!!

New Blog Title!

I have been doing a lot of searching around for fellow Disney blogs and came across a couple blogs which have similiar names as Delightful Disney Escape, or something close.
I have decided to change my blog title to "Yo Ho Yo Ho... A Disney Life For Me!"
My husband was the one who actually came up with this catchty title, so I decided to take his advice and change things up. Hope you enjoy!

XOXO,
Monica

Dinsey in T Minus 39 Days!!!

That's right! We are headed to the great world of Disney in 39 days!!!! I am super excited as always.
Rusty and I are heading down with another couple (Alex and Fred) for 8 wonderful nights! We will be celebrating our three year wedding anniversary and Alex and Fred will be celebrating their recent wedding! I never thought we would be able to find another couple that loves Disney as much as we do, but we found that in Alex and Fred.
We will be staying at the Old Key West Resort using our Disney Vacation Club points (this is our first time staying at Old Key West, but I have heard great things!)

We have a two bedroom suite so there should be plenty of room to spread out and both couples to have our own space. Has anyone stayed at the Old Key West before? If so, what did you think??

We will be using the Disney Dining Plan and have all of our reservations made! I love the food at Disney!! I always look forward to lots of yummy places! This trip we will be eating at Tony's Town square, O'hanas, Donald's Safari Breakfast, Whispering Canyon, Mama Melrose, La Hacienda De San Angel, 50's Prime Time Cafe, Le Cellier Steakhouse, and Via Napoli.

I think I am most excited about dinner at Ohana's.... it is one of my favorites!
We have a 8pm reservation, which should allow us to watch the fireworks while eating, perfect ending to any meal :)

I hope the next 39 days fly by, I am ready to escape reality and enjoy some time with the Mouse :)

XOXO Monica!

Where The Magic Started!

I have been asked by many "when did you first go to Disney" and "why do you go to Disney so much?" Well the truth is, I don't remember a time in my life when I was not totally obsessed and in love with Disney!
My first trip was actually inside of my mother's tummy, before I could truly see the magic of Walt Disney World! My second trip was when I was just five months old, which had to a lot of work for my parents (not only did they have an infant but they also had my two and four year old sisters!) I am not sure what they were thinking??!!
I was fortunate enough in my childhood to follow up my first and second visit with a visit to Disney World each summer and even some holiday trips. So, it is safe to say that I grew up thinking that vacation meant a trip to Disney (which is ok with me!)
To answer the question "why do you go to Disney so much", well that is easy! It is the best place on earth!!! Hands down. You can truly escape reality and become a kid at heart! Which is just why I created my new blog, devoted to all things Disney- Delightful Disney Escape!
I am still in the process of doing some creative touches to the blog but I was too excited to not do my first post! My hope in creating this blog, I will be able to share my love, secrets, tips, and favorite memories with others as well as connect with other Disney lovers!!!

XOXO Monica!
